Central Park

 We decided to take our coffee over to the park and enjoy the semi warm weather. All the picnic tables are tucked away til spring and the view is one of winter. 

Which is beautiful in its own right. 

And yes,  the park is actually called Central Park!

Snowman Decoration for Christmas

 I saw this on the way to the beach! Quick stop so I could get a picture to share with you. 

There was another identical snowman on the other column. 

So darn cute! 

Lake Michigan

 We were able to sneak in one more trip to the beach. 

Since it will likely be the last visit we spent hours walking and searching for beach glass. 

How I will miss the sound of the waves 

We left not because we wanted to but because it was getting dark! 

 

OLD BARN

 One of our favorite things to do is drive thru rural areas and look at barns. 

Yes I know...... we are easily amused. 

This one by far is my all time favorite 

LLAMA / WHITE SHAG CARPET

 We were out and about on a Rainy Sunday Drive and this llama was all curled up and look exactly like a discarded piece of white shag carpet! 

She politely posed for this picture. 

Then got up and slowly walked away as if to say "No more pictures for the day please"

QUILTING WITH VINTAGE PIECES

Incorporating vintage pieces into a quilt is so satisfying and challenging. However I have never regretted putting in the extra time to honor the person who hand pieced these wonderful fabrics into something so beautiful.

         

IRON BENCH ~ MOSTLY VINTAGE

 My husband finds some of the best things! 

He called and said that he found all the metal work for an iron bench  

Did I want it? Well of course.....

He removed all the purple paint- put on new slats 

 Voila... a lovely new bench.

I painted it this wonderful green....  Behr Thai Basil. 

I'll make a pillow or two and be ready to sit and read 

FIRST DAFFODILS OF SPRING

 I couldn't wait any longer! I only have a handful of these beauties that have bloomed so I just picked a few. I think the bunnies are as stunned as I was at how lovely they are!

The vase is a gift from a friend who started doing pottery and its amazing beautiful

TURKS & CAICOS

 I am stunned every time I see this picture of the beach when we first arrived in Turks & Caicos. 

How could it be this beautiful and how could I actually be there looking at it!

SEA GLASS

    Well to be accurate it would be considered Lake Glass but what ever you want to call it - it's was a great way to spend a beautiful (but cold) day. 3.5 miles later we're home warming up! 

Some rocks always seem to end up in my pockets too! 

WHITE PELICAN MIGRATION

 I'm so grateful that I was able to finally see these beautiful White Pelicans as they 

migrate thru our area! 

Never thought I see such a site in Northern Illinois!

The Unappreciated Flower

People tend to overlook or simply pass by this wonderful flower. .

I know I can't be the only one who loves this little gem. 

The colors are vibrant. 

They are fairly indestructible 

They last and look wonderful late in the fall when so many of the plants start to fail.
