Presley

We had a perfect weekend with temperatures in the upper 60's to mid 70's. You would think that fall crept in a couple months early. My son's French Bulldog found her happy place and decided that a nap on the porch was perfect for her.

She's such a cutie pie.

Evening in Cincinnati

I can't believe that it's been a week already since I left for my long weekend............

What a lovely weekend I had. I was able to visit with a very dear friend who I never get to see often enough. I am also so blessed to have an amazing friend who is so easy to travel with. Despite the heat we spend a lot of time outdoors walking and eating. After dinner at Morlein Lager House (oh yum), dear friend Susie, spotted a new area by the river that has been made into a water park where kiddies were playing and then the adults as the evening progressed. They also have the most wonderful swings right on the Ohio River.
All three of us sat and enjoyed the peace and, of course, the fun of people watching. Such a lovely evening.
The video shows all the beautiful night shots and colors of the fountains. Enjoy!!

Check out the Roebling Bridge in the background.

We sat here watching all the lights across the Ohio River, barges going by and just enjoying our friendship.

Left Bank Coffee House

We had a favorite coffee shop called GreenUp Café. Jean Pierre made the most fabulous pastries and the staff was always such a hoot! Unfortunately they closed a while ago, I think they moved into the “big city” of Cincinnati but not sure, and we have been without the comforts of a neighborhood café to while the time away.
Lo and behold this trip we were told about a new place. It’s called the Left Bank and I can’t wait to try it out. Unfortunately we didn’t get there while they were open but will definitely make a point of going there next trip to Covington, KY.

Quilt with Lots of Heart (s)

What a lovely idea for a quilt! I have an abundance of scrap material that would work perfectly for a quilt like this! From Paris to Roses and from Pastels to Bold fabrics!
I repinned this from one of my  favorite watercolor artists Geramyum.com
If you haven’t stopped by her site or blog…do. http://geramyum.com/

Enjoy your weekend. I’ll be traveling south to visit some friends and relax.
Pictures to follow next week!!

Angel from Thiery Mugler

One day at work I found myself walking by a co workers desk a little slower than normal. The scent coming from her area was nothing short of fabulous.
It was the perfume Angel from Thiery Mugler.
It was heavenly no pun intended...really.
She every so kindly shared her sample bottle with me. When I'm in my car and the fragrance is wafting (love that word) around it's a wonderful thing. I find myself secretly sniffing my wrist at work.....truly no one ever see that....It just makes me close my eyes and go to a different place in my mind!
And a lovely sparkling  bottle to enjoy as well!
This is definitely going on my gift wish list

Digger Quilt

I started a quilt for my grandson Cameron. He is currently obsessed with construction equipment or “diggers” as he calls them. He is also is enamored with farm equipment and is currently saving his money for a combine….not a play one ….he wants a real one.
His parents haven’t broken the news to him yet, considering he's only 4, that he will probably need to take a loan out some day for it!

Pillowcases

I don't tell a lot of people this so please keep this to yourself.  I have this amazing collection of pillowcases...some bought, some I made and then the pièce de résistance, vintage ones that my daughter in law (Kindle Girl) has given me.

And I iron my pillowcases.

There is nothing like the feel of it! Now don't get me wrong....I'm not someone who loves to iron but it's  worth it. I know you're scrunching up your face wondering what the heck is wrong with me.
What can I say....it's one of those things I do for myself.

Pure Vintage

I made this one

The blue is vintage fabric I used and the
yellow one belonged to my grandmother

Vintage again!

Vintage Quilts

Take a look and be envious! No really! These are some of the most beautifully handmade vintage quilts. A friend of my collected them.....well she collected ALOT of things and this was one of her many collections. Karen and Peter had a Bed & Breakfast in Covington, Kentucky called The Carneal House. I was privileged to stay there so many times and sleep under a lot of these quilts.
What a treat to pick and choose which one to snuggle under for the night.

Fabulous right?
The third one gives you an idea what the quilt looked like.
All the floral squares are hand embroidered.
The one on the left was my go to quilt. Unfortunately the picture
doesn't do it justice.
I love this take on the Pinwheel pattern.
Sigh.......
I'm not sure of the name for this one.
If you do let me know please.

I love this peaceful blog. Clemence, who is such a beautiful young woman, does a splendid job of posting things in the most beautiful colors. If you didn't like pastel colors before you visit this blog, she just might convert you.
Clemence was one of the first people who promoted one of my Etsy critters on her blog as a Christmas gift several years ago.
                                                  Merci Clemence
Stop by her blog. I'm sure she would love to share it with you.
