Lunch & Ideas

 

I was lunching with my wonderful Indiana friends ... as we walked out I saw it!

It was exactly what I wanted for my morning glories....it was perfect in every way.

It was enormously expensive too!

So I take a picture and present yet another project home to my husband.

Kind and talented person that he is he recreated it for me!

I look at it this way....I saved him a ton of money!
Tomorrow is Morning Glory Planting Day!

Tomato Update

My tomato plants are thriving! I still have 19 and room for maybe 5 in my garden. Rest assured that I have found good homes for all them I can't plant. They will go to several wonderful adoptive families.

And yes my final transplant was into Solo Cups. What??? They're the perfect size!
 





Sassy Hats

I attended a festival and a hat maker was there. You don't see that everyday do you? It was quite intriguing to watch her put "this & that" together and product all sorts of beautiful hats. It reminded me of my Aunt Ruth who made hats for herself...just for the pleasure of saying she created it and feeling special when she wore them.
Anyway..... back to the hat maker....she stated emphatically that there is a hat style for every person. You just have to try different styles on until you find the one that suits you. So a couple years ago after having convinced myself that there wasn't a hat made that I would look good in, her words came back to me and I started looking.
Bear in mind I hate to shop...but I looked when I was out and about and look what I found....A Hat I love!
I know, I know, it's black and kind of plain but pair it with my pumpkin color coat,
a fabulous scarf and it's as cute as a button!
                I was also motivated because it was an exceptionally cold & snowy winter.



Singing

I decided today that I am not going to try and hide the fact that I sing in the car. I love music .......  I love to sing. People talk on their Bluetooth and no one thinks anything of it when they're laughing, waving their arms etc. so I will sing to my hearts content.
As loud as I want and whenever I want.......even at stop lights.
Please bear in mind I won't sing with the windows all the way down...out of courtesy for your ears.

 

Grand Kids

I've been keeping this a secret but I just have to tell you. I have the most adorable, intelligent and lovable grand kids ever! How did this happen?????
I'm really serious....they are completely beautiful and just the smartest little ones ever. I know all grandmas say these things...... but it's really true.



.....Wow....

I think I just turned into my mother! Of course she was completely right too because all the above adjectives applied to my sons too!

 

Bakers Twine

For some reason I am fascinated with bakers twine. It started at a bakery in my area when I went in to buy a special birthday cupcake for my mom. They packaged it in this small white box and proceeded to tie it up with yards of red bakers twine. Little did I know that I was on the cutting edge of a current trend. I guarantee that never happens to me. My daughter in law works tirelessly to make sure I know what the current trends are. So I searched and searched Etsy for the perfect colors and I jumped in and bought the twine.....actually I bought 5 spools of twine.

All I can say is that I wish I had bought a lot more.

It's a known fact that you can never have enough twine!

Vintage Umbrella

I would love to be walking in the rain under this lovely vintage umbrella.

Tho my friend Susie thinks I need to just walk and dance in the rain at least one time in my life.

 

I have absolutely no idea why I have never done it.

Maybe when I get my first pair of Wellies I will.

 

 

A Grateful Heart

I end this particular day with a very grateful heart. My family, my friends you make my life good. You show me everyday what it means to be loved and cherished.

 I am grateful to each of you beyond anything you could possibly imagine.

  My cup runneth over.

 

Birdhouses

Who doesn’t love birdhouses? Well I’m sure there are people who don’t feel one way or the other about them but to me they can be so intriguing. There are the simple wren houses, that my dad made for my mom and then later for my sister and me to the ornate and grand. They can be made out of a huge variety of materials and they are one of teacher’s favorite class projects.

HOWEVER……..Why didn’t I think of doing this?????

I think every time I log onto Pinterest I say that.
By the way I want the hutch too!

Wellie Love

Like many people I love Wellies. I try them on all the time in stores yet have never purchased a pair. It feels wrong to by them here. I think I should travel to the UK and get a pair there. I know I could buy them online but where's the fun in that!!!!

I am forever sliding them in the trim next to the doorways to try to decide what color to paint the room that day......poor husband....he loves the color parchment.....

Harry Potter Wand

When I was scouring the shore line for rocks at Lake Laura look what I found! Is this not the most perfect wand you have ever seen???? Just sitting there waiting for me to find it. Remember the wand chooses the master!

Yes... I admit that I have tried some spells..........

 

Rocks

Rocks

I am slightly obsessed with rocks. I have buckets of rocks, baskets of rocks, big rocks in my gardens, rocks in my indoor water fountain......I think you get the idea.

 I have taken a kayak on Lake Laura and collected rocks from the shore until it was hard to get it back to the dock. Unload them, carry them up the hill to the car. When I got home and saw how beautiful they were my only regret was not getting more.
I know I'm a dork.
I have hiked the foothills of the Rockies with a back pack and collected as I went....not my best idea...I had to have my sister send them to me. Soooo when I got to the Post Office to pick them up the woman said " What did someone send you....rocks?" I was somewhat slow to answer her. Hey, they advertise whatever you can get in the box for a flat rate! I fail to see what the problem was.
 

I am in the process of training my grandson to appreciate them....

 much to my daughter in laws horror.

Proven Winners

Spring.....It's better than Christmas for me.
To wake up everyday and see the slow but sure progress of trees, bushes, flowers and all the green growing things. It is such a gift to be experiencing yet another spring in my life.
Colors are more vivid and the birds are singing louder...particularly at 4:30 AM!

Clouds

One of the many people I traveled with in Europe was Carol B. I don’t think there was a cloud in the sky that didn’t have pictures in them for her! As soon as she would tell me what to look for…there it was! How did she do that??? Since that trip I have made it my mission to see things when I look up….

I need you Carol…it isn’t working!
